ZDay Survival Simulator gets major update!

Posted by on Mar 4, 2014 in Blog, Events, Reviews - ZDAY Survival Simulator, Updates and News | 0 comments

The text based zombie survival game “ZDay Survival Simulator” is getting a major update this week.  Version 3.0 is expected to be available next week. “The new version is much more than just a patch or an update, it’s a complete overhaul from top to bottom.” said Ed Anderson, Creator of ZDay Survival Simulator and Survivor Z.  “The engine is completely new, and a hundred times more sophisticated than the previous one.  it’s like going from a mechanical typewriter to a super computer in terms of the game’s sophistication.” The game’s engine is the same as that found in Survivor Z, with some elements disabled such as online play and required location data.  Players will notice similarities to the interface, which now gives them the ability to control their inventory, arm their NPC (non-player characters) with weapons.  In addition, the challenge content has been changed to accommodate the new engine and it’s vastly improved capabilities to record and respond to user input.   There is also over 30% more new content in the game, meaning challenges will be harder, and more expansive than in previous versions. The new version will include iAds at the bottom of the screen on iPhone 5 and...

Survivor Z 2.6.1 update will add very cool new features

Survivor Z 2.6.1 update will add very cool new features

Always working to improve and innovate, the developers and designers at Mongadillo are uploading an update to Survivor Z that will give survivors the ability to relocate their safe house and to craft guard dogs that can be used as NPCs. These are just two new features that the upcoming release of Survivor Z will include, as well as some fixes in the code that may have caused survivors to lose items under certain circumstances due to intermittent internet connectivity. The release is expected in a week, pending the approval of the App Store. Safe houses up to now have been fixed positions that cannot be moved, and some players who have been playing for almost a year and have compiled huge collections of supplies, weapons and tools have complained that after relocating to a new house or changing jobs that they want to move their safe house and all of its contents but can’t. This update addresses that, but in true “Survivor” fashion, it’s not made easy. Players have to physically drag their safe house across the map, and drop it into its new location. When asked about why the method was implemented in this way, Ed Anderson, the game’s designer replied, “A move of more than 100 miles could take a few minutes, which we don’t think is that big of a deal, considering what it is you are doing.” Guard dogs are another much anticipated item. A lot of players were able to find a dog in the special “Christmas Day” challenge, and have asked if there is any way to make the dog more useful. Guard dogs will be craftable in the new release, but staying true to form, the developers do not divulge crafting recipes, but instead tend to refer players to their own resourcefulness, which these days manifests itself into forums, online wikis, and chatrooms. Guard dogs will be the same class as NPCs, though they will not be able to use weapons, they will be helpful in helping the player stay alive. The new update is scheduled to be released the week of February...

iPad 3 display bug found in ZDAY Survival Simulator version 2.5

It is known that version 2.5 of ZDAY Survival Simulator has a bug that will not allow the game to scale properly for iPad 3. This bug was not found in testing, and had to do with a bug in the latest build of the Corona SDK. Our developers were able to remedy the problem within 24 hours of the original release, but unfortunately, it take about a week for Apple to release updates. In an effort to compensate frustrated players, the publisher has made ZDAY Survival Simulator HD, which works perfectly on iPad 3, free until the updated release (2.5.1) is released by...
